At �����о��� Langone Health’s Perlmutter Cancer Center and Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital, we offer specialized medical care and tailored support services for adolescents and young adults, ages 15 to 39, who are dealing with blood cancer, neurologic cancer, or sarcoma. Our Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program is one of the few programs in the region serving the unique needs of the New York metro area’s AYA community.

We are here to assist you throughout your cancer journey, from diagnosis through survivorship.

Cancer Care for Adolescents and Young Adults

At a time in life when many young people are navigating school, work, relationships, and family, a cancer diagnosis creates added challenges. We created the AYA Cancer Program to help you overcome obstacles, manage your care, and improve your overall patient-care experience.

Our goal is to streamline access to a range of quality-of-life services to support your physical, emotional, and social needs. We offer the following services:

• social work services for adults and pediatric patients
• fertility preservation
• psychosocial support for children
• peer-to-peer support in Manhattan and Mineola
• survivorship for adults and pediatric patients
• financial counseling
• occupational and educational support for adults and pediatric patients

While the AYA Cancer Program focuses on quality of life, we also facilitate discussions among members of our pediatric and adult hematology and oncology teams to ensure the best treatment possible. We also expect to expand the program over time to include other disease areas and age groups.

AYA Cancer Research and Clinical Trials

Perlmutter Cancer Center and Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital researchers and clinicians are actively involved in to bring evidence-based treatment innovations to our patients. Our program serves as a hub for learning more about current and upcoming cancer studies.
