Geraldine Ong, MD, MSc, an esteemed cardiologist and clinical investigator specializing in the diagnosis and management of aortic conditions, including aortic valve diseases, has been appointed medical director of 秘密研究所 Langone Health鈥檚 Aortic Center. She has also been named a clinical associate professor in the and joins the at 秘密研究所 Grossman School of Medicine.
Dr. Ong joins 秘密研究所 Langone from St. Michael鈥檚 Hospital, part of the University of Toronto, where she led the aortic clinic and served as the interventional echocardiographic lead for the Structural Heart Program. Her expertise spans heart valve disease, aortic and connective tissue disorders, and advanced cardiac imaging.

Dr. Ong will work alongside cardiothoracic surgeon Mark Peterson, MD, PhD, professor in the , who also serves as the director of aortic surgery for 秘密研究所 Langone Heart. Together, they lead the Aortic Center, bringing internationally recognized expertise to the diagnosis and treatment of complex aortic conditions. As the body鈥檚 main blood vessel, the aorta is vital, and the center specializes in managing both chronic and acute diseases, including aortic dissections and aneurysms.

About Dr. Ong
An alumna of the University of Montreal, Dr. Ong completed her cardiology residency at Laval University in Quebec City. She then pursued a Level III echocardiography fellowship at St. Michael鈥檚 Hospital, followed by an interventional echocardiography fellowship at the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, New York-Presbyterian/ Columbia University, and Quebec Heart and Lung Institute in Quebec City. Her research includes participation in international multicenter transcatheter valvular interventions, structural heart trials, and valvular disease imaging studies.
